Our Company

Coomes Consulting Group is a multi-disciplined firm of consulting engineers, surveyors, planners, landscape architects and urban designers.

The firm was established in 1984 and employs over 290 people. We have offices in Melbourne and in regional Shepparton, Bendigo, Albury/Wodonga and Geelong.

Coomes Consulting was acquired by Downer EDI Limited on November 1 2005 and now operates as a wholly owned subsidiary of Downer EDI Limited, a top-100 ASX listed company. Downer EDI Limited is Australasia's largest and leading outsourced engineering services company, providing services to public and private owners of essential assets in the Asia-Pacific region.

The firm will continue to grow to become a national consulting business following on its history of organic growth, mergers and acquisitions. Our most recent acquisition in February 2008 is Douglas Gow & Associates.

We have a significant number of projects in our portfolio, offer integrated services in this area and have the capacity, resources and structure to deliver multiple large scale projects concurrently. Our expertise on the issues of urban and rural design, public consultation, strategic thinking and infrastructure management has enabled us to extend our knowledge and deliver development projects that continue to be at the leading edge.
